Ken Avidor creator of Roadkill Bill has posted the first four pages of his graphic novel Bicyclopolis over on his blog.
What the hell is Bicyclopolis you ask?
I began my journey to Bicyclopolis in 2076, nearly 65 years after all contact with the North American continent ceased. Travel was restricted as the chaos and violence swept over North America after the “Peak Oil” year of 2006. The runaway greenhouse effect that began in 2015 spawned scores of powerful storms in the Atlantic Ocean increasing the risk to travelers. Since ships that burned fossil fuels were banned by the final Kyoto Convention of 2018, no sailing ship would attempt the dangerous Atlantic voyage to America. After the loss of radio transmissions, the fate of Americans in the Post-Industrial Era remained a mystery.
I’ve no idea if this is for sale or not yet but I have been following the sketches and progress of this bizarre piece of fiction for a few years.
Check this link dump for more info on the post-petroleum piece of fiction.
PS That picture of a collapsed 35W was created long before it actually collapsed.
Someone grab a wooden stake and make sure that it is really really dead.
The Met Council voted 11-1 to accept the Washington Avenue plan for the LRT Central Corridor. With the University of Minnesota’s representative being the only NO vote.
“The resolution that we passed today does close the door on the northern alignment,” said Peter Bell, who chairs both the planning committee and the Met Council.
I’m so glad that this project is moving forward. My only fear now is that the Fed will use this infighting as an excuse to not give us the funding we need.
Rode a metric century (1ooKM/62miles) with the lady friend on Saturday. It was windy. We took the Gateway Trail from beginning to end. It was about 11 miles from my house to the start of the trail and those were the worst miles. Heading down Como Ave we went straight into 15 MPH winds.
I needed to ramp up my miles in preparation for the MS 150 on June 6th. I know I’ll be able to do it but I want to be ready. 75 miles a day isn’t something I can do without a bit of prep. But knowing that weekend warrior roadies who only ride 6 months a year can do it, makes me feel better.
I’ll be riding with Team 1FS (One Fucking Speed). All of us will be riding fixed gears or single speeds. The team is in its second year and from all accounts, passing a roadie in full kit on a fixed gear really pisses them off. Can’t wait!

Presented by CurlyBuhjorn productions.
$5 to race

Sean and Bjorn are putting on an Alleycat this weekend. Sponsored by Burlesque of North America and Behind Bars Bike Shop. I know this race will be fun as opposed to painful.
There are rumors of a wheelset for the winner.
Check out the rumors and smack talk over at MBL.
