It looks like Bike Polo in Minneapolis is finally taking root. Connor finally took the initiative and made a few mallets.
Come on down to Logan Park and try it out. It is a ton of fun to watch. I went down a few weekends ago to watch and ended up playing for the first time. I had a blast and only ended up with a skinned ankle.
Starts at 6:30pm every Sunday and goes until its too dark to see. All you need to bring is you bike everything else required to play is provided.
PS League because it sounds good. It is just pick up games.
Due to circumstances beyond my control, we were down for the better part of two days. Sorry to the 4 people that tried to view the site during that time.
Team 1FS (1 Fucking Speed) successfully completed the Larkin HoffmanMS 150 on Sunday. Friday to Sunday Jana, Phil, Karl, Phillip and I rode approximately 210 miles (338 Km). Which included 106 miles (170 Km) on Sunday. I felt like 18 million dollars after riding 100+ miles.
A major tip of the hat to Mark, Nick, and Kevin who rode well over 300 miles over the weekend. Including 150 miles on Friday! Instead of taking the bus to Proctor they rode the entire route in one day.
A full set of photos from the weekend are available over in my photostream.
When we got back we still had to haul our gear from our drop off point at Phillip’s house. Karl decided he’d put four people’s gear on his Big Dummy for shits and giggles. Here’s a video highlighting the voluminous load.
Did a fast group ride last night. 8 of us left Powderhorn careening down to Hidden Falls, through Crosby Farm Park, and out and up Snelling to Como Lake. 28 miles of fun. Put me in the perfect frame of mind to ride the MS 150 this weekend.
The Bicycle Film Festival is once again coming to Minneapolis. And while the official info is not yet on the MPLS page, I can offer a semi-official docket of events. All of which are listed on the calendar page. More on the myriad of events later.
In May of 2007 a friend and I threw scAVENGER!. Over 100+ people turned out and we raised several hundred dollars for a local cyclist involved in a hit and run accident. Right around the time I was going to start planning for scAVENGER! 2 I was honored to be invited to plan the BFF Scavenger Hunt.
Tentatively this will be held on Saturday July 12th at 1pm. The race will launch from Varsity Bike Shop. Being a Film Festival event you can look forward to a scavenger hunt with a bicycle film twist. More info on the Bicycle Film Festival Scavenger hunt as soon as I dream it up. For now head on over to the calendar page and check out the events scheduled for July 9th to the 12th.
