Jeff put together this teaser video which is pretty radical. That Connor fella can sure pull off some insane skids.

May Day Parade 2008 - Bike Report

May 5th, 2008 by Sveden

The 2008 In the Heart of the Beast Puppet Theater May Day Parade in Minneapolis was a smashing success. This was the best weather the parade had enjoyed in the 10 years I have been attending. Everyone was in a right jolly mood.

First off, I am so happy to see more bikes out this year. It wasn’t just me who felt that way either. I swear that more people were riding bikes to and fro the festival than ever before.

Here are few of the bicycle related highlights. More photos can be found over in my flickr.

One of the coolest entries in the parade was the Beat Shack. A leftover from the Art Shanty project. A human powered moving Ice House. Complete with working stove.

The May Day Parade is one of the greatest things about Minneapolis. We should all feel proud of the community spirit that goes into making this parade possible.

Addendum - The Scallywags Bike Club having recently gone kaput was not in the pre-parade of freak bikes this year. The Jesus loving gutter punk jean jacket wearing bike club is no more. Only thing I missed was not seeing their 360 flip bike.

Big Dummy on the Go

April 9th, 2008 by Sveden

What to do when you buy a new bike and you have to get the old one home? Give your friend with a Surly Big Dummy a call.

Shown in the video and this flickr set is a fixed gear attached to a Yakima channel rack which is attached to Xtra-cycle Wide Loader being transported across the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis.

Homie Fall Fest 2006

October 25th, 2006 by Sveden

Man, Homey Fall Fest was a ton of fun. That being said I wish I could have stuck around later for the mayhem. Namely this video which Jeremy posted.

Tons of pictures can be found at mplsbikelove.
